Why Join LBA?

Who are we?

Latino Business Association was established in 1983 as a student-run organization dedicated to providing its members with extensive networking opportunities in the vast field of business, such as: Marketing, Law, Investment, Accounting, Real Estate, Banking, Entrepreneurship and more!

Our student body is challenged to develop leadership and professional skills while at the same time providing them with the connections needed to acquire internships, and successfully land a career upon graduation from college.

Our Commitment to Professionalism

At our meetings, members are given the opportunity to interact one on one with guest speakers from companies such as PriceWaterHouse Coopers, Bank of America, Remax, Target, Enterprise and so on. Outside of our meetings, LBA is part of an umbrella of California based college groups called the United Latino Students. We are also proud members of the National Hispanic Business Association, or NHBA for short, which hosts annual conferences across the nation aimed at developing students’ leadership skills through engaging workshops and the ability to network with distinguished professionals across the country.

Giving Back to the Community

At LBA, we understand the importance of “community.” This is why we have recently established the MENTORS program in which interested UCSB students may partner with a current high school student in order to offer them valuable advice and insight into the college life, and to help them set goals for success and personal development as they transition from high-school to college. Other community service projects we have been involved in, include: Tree Planting for Goleta Valley Beautiful, Volunteering at the Isla Vista Elementary School, and helping out at the annual Arts and Crafts Halloween Carnival.

Work Hard Play Hard

At LBA, we like to socialize as much as we work and study. Take part in Alumni mixers, where you get a unique chance to converse with UCSB Alumni and ask them questions about life after college. Attend group retreats, where we form tighter bonds between LBA members, and lets not forget to mention LBA club parties which are thrown quarterly and are always a great way to meet new people and have fun.

LBA is not just a professional org. It’s a family, so we invite you to come join us and feel at home.
